Greetings from Southern Spain!... I´m here once more to share another edible recipe that is easy peasy to bake. It´s a classic in my household because the cake is versatile in many ways. The batter is very basic and in this recipe I have included decarbed leaves from my last harvest which is a mixture of the strains Green Poison and Amnesia Platinum.
A Small J Roll Of Amnesia Haze
But before we go on with the recipe, I have rolled a J from my stash of Amnesia Haze and had coffee and munched the Apple Bars afterwards. I first tried this strain in Amsterdam and it was very potent with 21% THC. At first toke, it will take 2 minutes for the limbs to get weak.
The warning of the budtender from the coffee shop was true …. that this strain could blow your mind in just about 20 minutes and you wouldn´t know where you are and might not recognize the people around you. Darn high, hubbz was stoned! A couch lock was of course expected and I slept . Glad we tried this in our hotel. The effect took about 2-3 hours which afterwards made us so hungry.
The size of this roller is quite practical to use because it´s good to roll a smaller joint particularly when puffs are done in the afternoon to go with coffee and ponder about the day. You just feel relaxed on the size and mind was not that confused...
Canna Apple Cake Bars
250 g Flour
150 g Sugar
3 tsps decarbed sugar leaves
100 ml Oil
100 ml water
1/2 pack baking powder
1 pack vanilla sugar ( Dr. Oetker)
Juice of 1/2 Lemon
2 Red apples, cored, halved and cut thinly
2 tbsps dried cranberries (optional)
2 tbsps strawberry jam
Preheat oven at 170°C
1.... Separate the eggs in 2 containers.
2.... In the first container, beat the egg yolk, add the sugar, vanilla sugar and the lemon juice.
Beat until the mixture becomes smooth in consistency. In a bowl, add the decarbed sugar leaves into the flour, sift the baking powder and mix carefully til all are combined properly. Using a spatula, fold in flour/decarbed leaves/bakingpowder to the egg yolk mixture adding alternately water and oil.
3.... In the 2nd container, beat the egg whites until peaks are building and become stiff folding carefully into the egg yolk mixture in the first container until evenly combined. Spread the batter in a lined rectangular baking tin. Arrange the apple slices on top of the batter. Top with the dried cranberry in between the apple slices.
4... Heat 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam either in the microwave for 1 minute or under low fire until jam is liquified. Use a pastry brush to carefully pat jam on top of the apples mixture. Bake under 170°C (38°F) for about 30 minutes. The cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. . Cut the cake into bars carefully and arrange on a platter. Sprinkle confectioner´s sugar on top of the bar or each bar can be topped with a bit of jam or whipped cream as you like. Can be served hot or cold. ENJOY!
To make sure that the cake doesn´t get too dark on top, cover the baking tin with aluminum foil during the second half of the baking time.
