Hello fellow smokers! It has been some time since I have had any time to post a grow update. So here is a long due post to catch you up. Sorry for all the images, I assure you they are all in chronological order from my last post. You can really see the crop sprawling out. As you will see I ran in to a outdoor grower's hurdle to get through, but this is nothing new as in my area this is practically unavoidable.
All the previous photos were prior to a mass defoliation, planned of-course.
Growing outdoor I always have Aphids by the end of the season, just depends on how early they infect what my plan of attack is. I had been spraying Neem Oil up to the end of Veg to deter the migration of the Aphids, this was the first year I had tried this method. If you ask me, it seemed to attract them faster. Or possibly it was the new strains I am cultivating. As I began to notice the Aphid nymphs, I was picking them off by hand, actually an easy thing to do when you have 1 plant. This year I have 4 and that is a huge under taking. I was spending an hour every night just searching and killing. One thing I can say as fact, the JCExtreme NoName is way more resilient to Aphids. I can find the nymphs on the Snow White, and the Vanilla Kush. However, I have not found any Aphids on the JC, and it is sandwiched in the garden between the two other strains. This leads me to believe JC has a great outdoor trait, natural pest control.
Look at this nasty bugger...
Nasty Fucking Life Sucker
Aphids are nothing to fuck with. You need to be on top them little fuckers as they multiply exponentially if you leave them unattended.
Here are some shots after a good defoliation I did to spread the light.
Even after the close attention, as you can see the Aphids are still to be found here and there. This is a problem I haven't had to battle this early before. This calls for extreme measures.
Time to call in the reinforcements...Ordered up some Ladybugs.
My Glorious Warriors Have Arrived...
Sorry for all the pics...it has been sometime. The Last few photos were taken tonight, the Ladybugs are still cleaning my crop! Also, I will be doing a review on the bug company soon. I actually had a reason to contact customer service, I will let you know how that goes.
Until next time, Toe, Toe, Toke it up....
